I’ve been meaning to post about a great new Christmas site, www.christmassongs.net, which I’ve just added to our blogroll.  The site has really interesting history sections on a few of the most popular songs (Jingle Bells, Silent Night, White Christmas, etc.), a ton of printable lyrics, and one of the coolest things: Christmas music trivia.  As it gets closer to Christmas I’ll try to highlight more cool Christmas sites.  If you’ve got any you particularly like, feel free to send me an email at info@santasquarters.com, and I’ll consider posting them here on the blog.

I came across a fantastic site that I thought I’d share here…Hope Studios.  The last few posts on Christmas decorating are terrific…great craft ideas and absolutely beautiful decorations.  The picture of the wreath above is from Jennifer’s post on making an ornament wreath.  Enjoy!

The Inspired Room has a thought provoking post on alternative Christmas decorating color themes, with lots of great reading in the comments.  While some readers make small changes to the classic red and green Christmas colors (Lori using cherry red and limey green), others are going all out with a pink decorating theme!  On the subject of alternative Christmas colors, check out our selection of colored Christmas trees from pink and turquoise to black and red.

Stores across the country are already busy putting out Christmas merchandise according to this Boston Globe article. But it sounds like most people that were interviewed consider it too early in the year.  While retailers like Kohl’s, Macy’s, K-Mart, and Rite Aid are trying to get an early start, consumer polls are showing that customers will spend less this year.  What do you think?
